Haven't been here in years but came here to celebrate a birthday. My husband got the lasagna and enjoyed it. I ordered the veal piccata with angel hair and my cousin got the shrimp and chicken creamy pesto with angel hair. Both dishes were good. We ordered the tiramisu and it was decent but I've had better. Overall, nice place to celebrate a special occasion but service was a little slow.

Assaggio Ristorante Italiano offers a culinary journey that transports you straight to Italy, right from the comfort of their cozy and inviting dining space. A standout experience is their table side Caesar salad, freshly prepared right before your eyes. The crisp romaine, perfectly seasoned with a homemade dressing, accented with just the right amount of anchovy and garlic, creates a symphony of flavors. Not to be overshadowed, the Chicken and Shrimp béchamel is a masterpiece. The sauce is creamy and rich, enveloping each piece of tender chicken and succulent shrimp in a velvety cloak of flavor. This dish perfectly balances the robustness of the seafood and poultry, making each bite a delightful experience. The attentive service, ambient setting, and consistently impressive menu make Assaggio a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Italian dining experience. Whether you're a fan of classic Italian dishes or looking to try something new, Assaggio Ristorante Italiano will not disappoint.

This is one of our favorite restaurants on the island. It is genuine Italian fare not that eclectic bs. The Ceasar Salad is superb. The bread delicious but don't fill up on that because their portions are large.

Great food and perfect server. Created great Caesar salad. I asked him how many he makes in a day and he shared a story of creating 26 Servings for a softball team. Fun. Servings so big, we all took home leftovers. A little pricy.

I'll admit, I was a bit nervous to eat here again (I got sick last April, when I dined here for the first time,) but boy am I glad that I gave this restaurant another chance. Made a reservation for 3 people at 12:30, and was able to be seated as soon as we arrived. Right from the get go, the service was excellent--host asked if we wanted to wait to be seated since we arrived early, but we were all starving so of course we didn't want any delays lol. Once seated, it didn't take long for our water glasses to be filled and their famous bread and butter to be brought out. We really tried our best to not eat all the bread, but we couldn't help ourselves. We ordered 2 small veal alla piccata, a small chicken marsala, tartufo, and tiramisu. Everything was absolutely delicious. I learned from the last time not to get the fettuccine alfredo, which honestly didn't taste that great. The veal had some tough areas, but overall the meat was quite tender and delicious. I think my favorite main entree was the chicken marsala--chicken was nice and crispy and the sauce was amazing. This wasn't my main dish, but I was able to snag a bite. Sharing is caring. My experience this time was so much better than last April, regarding food and service. Our server was clearly very professional and the other staff members who helped drop off our food and remove our empty plates from the table were all very friendly and courteous. I will definitely be returning for lunch. Highly recommend to anyone in the Ala Moana area.

An early birthday lunch for my daughter brought us here. It's been years since we last ate at the Assaggio Ristorante located in the Ala Moana Shopping Center. We had reservations and we were seated right away. Our server was very nice and courteous. He gave us time to review the menu and informed us of the daily specials. Hot fresh bread was served with butter. Our glasses of water and ice tea were refilled without our asking. Used dishes were cleared and replaced. The restaurant atmosphere was elegant and simple. Colorful art pieces are displayed throughout the restaurant. The lunch crowd filled the place. Our order was taken and served timely. Our choices: Special of the day: Chicken and Bay Shrimp Del Verde. 4 out of 5 stars. Very tasty and flavorful. Calamari Legs. 4 out of 5 stars. Not oily tasting. Tender to chew and coating was crisp. Served hot with a tartar sauce. Rigatoni Allá Ricotta-Choice of rigatoni tossed with ricotta cheese and tomato sauce with Italian sausage. Very large serving size. Leftovers of sausage. 4 out of 5 stars. Our server provided a birthday treat of the mud ice cream pie that my daughter enjoyed. 5 out of 5 stars. We tried the spumoni ice cream. The spumoni ice cream was interesting in flavor, with bits of fruit and nuts. 3 out of 5 stars.

This Ala Moana location is convenient when you are celebrating birthdays or hosting out of town guests! They have several Lunch Specials: Sandwiches so you don't need to order a whole entree! Service is always good and attentive! The restaurant is on the bottom street level next to lots of parking. They have this wonderful koi pond to sit by!

I like coming to Assaggio at Ala Moana Center. There are lots of free parking, fairly big restaurant with a private room to accommodate a larger party. They always have room for two without reservations at last minute, but it's best to make. It's nice inside with menu items which are reasonable for what you get. I like this type of style of Italian food. I used to order Chicken sorrentino or saltimbocca and Chicken Assaggio until it was too rich for me and i would get chicken Anchovy olio since it's with olive oil and I would ask for the chicken to be crispy. Now, my go to dish is chicken piccata with lemon caper sauce. I would ask for the chicken to be extra crispy with the sauce on the side! It's a little more for Angel hair pasta but find that I like it best with this dish. I'm not a salad person but I sometimes I share /split the delicious "Crispy Golden" fish salad before my entree. It's really good with garlic and their dressing! Amazing. I don't mind ordering dessert afterwards since their desserts are so reasonable like $5 or $6.50 for most. Even the 3-layered sorbet wedge for $6.50! It's mango, Haupia and guava! So worth it. It's not even $8-$12 ! How can I pass it up! Lunch time they offer sandwiches too. I find most places that don't make their picatta like here. It's nicely breaded not like some other places! I just love it here!
